Evaluations will be on March 17th in the Middle School Gym.

3rd-4th grade 1:00pm-2:30pm

5th-6th grade 2:30pm-5:00pm

7th-8th grade  (May not be needed based on numbers)

**Players to be evaluated by independent evaluators.

During the evaluation, the following fundamentals will be evaluated:

• Fielding – Stance, mechanics, positioning, ability, transition to throw
• Throwing – Mechanics, distance, accuracy, strength
• Hitting – Mechanics, bat speed, hand/eye coordination, contact, placement
• Pitching – Mechanics, accuracy, strength
• Running – Mechanics and speed
• Coachability and Attitude – Can this player be coached, follows directions, listens

We cannot put enough emphasis on coachability and attitude.  A player that is coachable and possesses a positive attitude has a distinct advantage over those who do not.  Please encourage your son or daughter to come to the evaluation focused, responsible, and with a positive attitude.

All players are being evaluated to assist the Little League Board in determining the number of teams to field in each league and to assist in the formation of team rosters.  All of the data gathered from the evaluation will be compiled by the Little League Board.  All information shall be kept confidential and is not available for dissemination.  After consideration of all data submitted, rosters for the summer season’s teams are created by the Little League Board in partnership with identified volunteer coaches from each age group.   

The team selection process varies depending upon the age group.  The Little League Board anticipates one tournament team per age group.  For grades 3 and 4, the evaluation process shall assist the Little League Board in creating rosters that are evenly divided and equally competitive.  For grades 5 and 6, the evaluation process shall assist the Little League Board in creating Rosters for the Crow River League and determining the number of teams for each division of play.  Players at all levels will be evaluated based upon ability, attitude, coachability and team needs.
